Modest yet powerful Yashica MG1 Review Dusty Grain

The Yashica MG-1 was made somewhere in late 1970's. This was a period in which rangefinders were being phased out by manufacturers for SLRs. I had always read about Yashica rangefinders online, and although I thought this was the particular one everyone spoke about, I was wrong.

No I didn't. Yashica MG-1: top view. That's what I should have done. Instead, I put it on a shelf and left it there with the intention of taking it for a run at some point. Then I moved halfway across the world and the Yashica spent three months on various trucks and ships catching up with me.

Built from 1975 to 1980, the Yashica MG-1 ended the Electro 35 era, which began in 1966. The MG-1's 45mm f/2.8 Yashinon lens, of four elements in three groups, is a little slower than the f/1.7 lens on all of the other Electro 35s. Also, while other Electro 35s automatically correct for parallax, the MG-1 doesn't.
